And so I've returned from my ICT, which is basically abt combat shoot, e main event on e 5th day. E entire ICT has been super damn slack, being a low key ICT and tat most of e time we were resting our mind, body and soul in our bunk sweet bunk. And dear old Chin brought his digital hard disk LCD screen player, which has a hard disk space of 20 GB, its screen size measuring abt 8 by 5 inches. Basically it is a portable tv which can play watever downloaded shows. And so within e 6 days 5 nites vacation, I've watched e entire season 5 24 and 1st season of prison break. Kaoz.. Prison break is really damn nice ah.. And I've also finished 2/3 of da vinci code which siwen lent me.. Pretty informative, for eg there's e divine proportion- e magic number 1.618 (e ratio of Fibonacci series- 1,1,2,3,5,8,13,21,34,55), which is also used in dentistry, better known as e golden proportion, when we are setting e front 6 teeth--
central incisor : lateral incisor : canine= 1.618: 1 : 0.618
E combat shoot was a new thing to us- Its e first time we are shooting as a detail level rather than individually. To get marksman, e entire detail must get 80% of e targets in total (each firer must shoot 30 rounds- 15 in day and 15 @ nite; so on avg, each firer can afford to miss 6 targets outta 30. ) More interestingly, e targets will raise randomly from different lanes so one haff to observe and calcuate where his target is and engage e target promptly. And its this reason me and Teck Soon found it to be damn fun ah.. And with e proper firing technique, missing e target is almost impossible heh.. Imagine a figure 11 or figure 12 target, foxhole supported position, 100m away and with a SAR 21 scope with 1.5 magnification. So I gotta 29 outta 30 shots heh.. And thou Sgt Willis missed 11 targets, it was made up for by e rest of our detail pple and so gotta $200 each! As expected ah..
Speaking of $, e whole ICT allowance is damn meagre ah- $118 for e 6D5N camp- which is a total of 126 hr, so doing e maths, its 93 cents per hour. Compare this with e $18 per hour for e colgate screening. But as I've said earlier, its $118 for a vacation.. And they even throw in a wednesday nites off where we promptly took a cab to bukit timah shopping centre for dota session heh.. Its really a gd break, since there's no computer or email watsoever to remind u of e vast amt of journals tat we need to prepare for e next dental school term.
Enuff said, its time for House, kudos to Dennis..

Once again, colgate screening prove tat everything is worthwhile.. At $16 an hr, a 5 hr shift will mean you r $90 richer.. The rate is so good, tat almost e whole class signed up; but ofcoz there are limited slots and only a selected few got e job. And this' juz e rate for a dental assistant heh..
And btw giving OHI and doing charting, I prefer e former coz it allow you to put ur knowledge into use and allow you to realise what you nue or dun't nue. And dental screening such as this always saw lots of kids as e entire family will march down for a dental checkup. And quite interestingly, one of e boys, a 10 yr old, is named Yong he! This is e first time I have seen a live person with the same name as mine, beside e famous Yong He yui tiao da wang @ Geylang ah.. And it sure sound damn damn farniee when I was trying to get his attention when he forgot to take his charting card..
Me: Yonghe! Yonghe! You forget your card!
But one thing is for sure.
All Yonghes are damn yan daos.

Finally I gotta my laptop back after 2 whole weeks.. Just when I need it e most during e hols haha! This 3 weeks of break is so so welcomed but as my usual luck will haff it, my entire 2nd wk will be spent serving e nation. This will be my 2nd ICT liaoz..
Was reading all my friends' blogs just now and u can tell easily tell apart those which belong to e dental pple and those non-dental.. The prior are e depressed, pessimistic ones heh.. And so no school work will be mentioned here else I become another one. And Diana's blog indeed sound so much cheerful and free of gloom haha..
And lots of my dental friends including me love e song Bad Day by Daniel Pewter.. Guess we can definitely relate to it heh..
