2day's been quite an eventful day..
Did my first - not 1 but 2!! amalgam fillings!
Did my first IDN nerve block, a more dua zong injection compared to infiltration!
And all of these r of coz reserved for my first patient and best buddy, Jason Ong! And a best buddy is one who is always there to share ur 1st fillings and IDN blocks, juz like I'm there also to share his pain.
And en saw my grand councillor Jingli and a few of his classmates 2day.. Wa.. So envy em ah.. They had juz finished their last written paper and e bulk of FINAL YEAR BDS PAPERS is over. Wa.. When will I ever be in their shoes? Will be juz wishing for tat day to come man.. Realised also I wun't be seeing too much of Jingli liaoz.. After 2morrow's exam case presentation and next tue's viva of 3 completely new cases' E& D and treatment plan, his BDS PAPERS will be completely over.. Wa seh.. And ever since he plucked out 1 of my premolars, our friendship juz grew and grew. Kenneth commented we r quite alike, with a touch of ah-bengness, complete with an suave attitude and handsome faces. Guess yandao pple click better with each other.. Will definitely be missing his 'Hello Sir!' and 'Yandao Sir!'.. Pity..

Its been a long 2 days rushing ard with DPH- Dental Public Health, which was held yesterday at Toa Payoh offering free dental screening to e public. But if u think tat was tuff, think Wei Song. He covered everything from major to minor to minute details- Canvassing, logistics, layout, manpower.. ~Power.
Perhaps we haff done DPH twice last yr or perhaps becoz I've spent e whole day down yesterday, I find this yr's DPH not particularly interesting. It was infact pretty xian. Walking ard toking to interested onlookers or giffing OHI for 3 hours straight ain't exactly fun. But when its a two way conversation, time passed so much, so much faster.
And to help time pass faster, I even joined e 1st shift guys for Revenge of e Sith at 1pm.. And let me tell u now Revenge is not all tat great. Maybe coz I'm not really into spaceships and robots but I love it when e aliens and creatures with weird-looking faces came out. Tok abt tech savviness. Plot is pretty unbelivable with Anakin Skywalker turning to e dark side juz becoz of a dream he had one night tat Padme Amidala will die. Huh? And en scenes of R2-D2 e astro robot fighting e battle droids and those of C-3PO e human-like robot toking to Padme, r supposed to make u laff- I think, but they made me raise n an eyebrow instead.. Wat was tat abt? En they like to change scenes by slowly moving one scene over e next in various directions- horizontally to e right, vertically down or even circular clockwise/anticlockwise manner. Er... Wao? And en e SOP (standard operating procedure ) music which was played when Darth Vader was born or when he was given his all-powerful metallic armour after his defeat with Obi-wan, but tat juz make me smirk. Think Ivan's continual playing of e idiotic tune during army have had a significant influence. But nonetheless, its supposed to be a blockbuster so I'll better shut up for now.
On lighter topics, I was behind e OHI desk in e morning when a little chinese gal of abt 4 yr old came up to me. She had no file no nothing and her parents r no where in sight. En she was pretty amused by e gigantic model of human dentition and asked me where e giant teeth had came from. I replied they were plucked out from my own mouth and after planting, watering and fertilising they grew up to tat size. And kids being as innocent as they r, she actually believed me.. She played with e model for a while and en got more interested in e floss. She asked me wat tat was and so I demoed to her how e floss work, since flossing is no laffing matter. She cut out a short piece of floss herself but while I was demoing on e model, she actually put her piece of floss inside her mouth and began 'flossing'! Hmm.. Trying not to laff aloud, I asked her to stop and amazingly she did, but dropped e saliva-stained floss on e desk top. Err.. Using e most 'authorative' voice I could muster, I asked her to throw it in e biohazard bin instead.. Amzaingly again she actually picked it up and.. throw it onto my lap..! Kaoz.. Juz in case I haff never mentioned it b4, I must mention again tatz y I can never be a primary/ kindergarden school teacher.. They'll probably climb all over me and drive me nuts. But atleast little cute gal gave me an interesting story to tell for yesterday..

Have u ever tried snacking while biking?
Anywae at 6pm today I decided to go for a swim juz b4 dinner and so I cycled to Bukit Batok swimming complex which was abt 4 busstops away only. Boy was e complex crowded today, being a wkend, full of families and working personeel ( like me) who need to replenish their mind, spirit and body. Kaoz.. Its really not fun to swim in a crowded pool ah.. First u can't even stretch ur limbs in a full stroke without hitting someone.. En u can't swim forward for very long b4 stopping or changing directions coz of e 'INCOMING!!' kids swimming towards u in all possible directions~ damn lots of kids in e adult pool coz they having swimming lessons from e instructors.
So I swam for abt 30 laps b4 calling it a day and en cycled to e nearby coffeeshop to get a pack of fries to jia liao for e dinner at home. But alas, e greedy me decided to chomp down 1/2 e packet first while I was cycling home.. One of e perks of hands-free biking ah.. And Teck Soon's sis gotta a brand new bike! Can go cycling or nite cycling together liaoz.. Yeah!

Had my very first LA ( local anaesthesia) infiltration done on my lab partner this morning! Turn out to be not as scary as it looks and quite simple actually in admistering the LA once u follow e basic prniciples.
1) Nue where to poke.
2) Face ur palm upwards so u can close ur chicken wing. This gives a whole lot more stability during e adminstration. And so you maintain ur marksmanship!
3) Inject as slow as possible for e 1st 10 sec.
And en wat do u nue? E injection is over b4 you even realise it has begun.. Simply cool..

Watched House of Wax later in e evening with Qi and gang.. Not too bad a show ah.. Characteristical of western shock tactics with a few gruesome screens.. Not too bad.. But I really wanna watch Kingdom of Heavens! Read from e papers' article tat e battlefield screens r damn gd ah.. 4/1/2 stars more..
And Qi commented my teeth picture is actually scary.. Well.. Tatz something new.. Comments anyone?
