Ah.. Read something interesting juz now from Lippincotts' Introduction to Pharmacology chapter 1. Quote "... plasma is about 6% of the body weight or, in a 70kg individual, about 4L of body fluid." Perhaps u already nue this but I dun nue y I had e misconception till this date that an average guy has 5L of blood.
Anywae.. that's only 4L for 70 kg man. Kaoz.. Tat mean I only have 2.88L of blood.. Work out e maths and u'll find how heavy I am.. And tat's an improvement from e 46kg a few months ago when I'm down with severe-kidney-pain, ankle-sprain-like-pain-but-not-ankle-sprain and fever. But thankfully I'm better now, thanx to all e various MIS-diagnosis from e various gundosamy doctors, with their diagnosis ranging from kidney stones to muscle ache to over-exertion of e other foot. Its a wonder they didn't came up with syphilis or AIDS or cancer. But anywae e ankle pain existed for more than a month or so; during which e pain amazing metastasizes from e left ankle to e right and then to my left knee. Wao! Finally e idoit doc stop sending me to e toilet to collect my yellow urine but to e treatment room to collect my red blood. And when the results came back, e doc quickly refered me to a polyclinic so I can be refered to a rheumatologist. So that I'll recieve e government subsidies ah.. Yupz.. I got symptoms of e joint disease called rheumatoid arthritis. Its basically a type 3 hypersensitivity reaction where my body IgA, IgE, IgM and IgG immunoglobins r attacking my own normal, healthy body cells. Kaoz.. Idoit plasma cells. Can't they wake up their own fu**ing idea and stop producing immunoglobins? That was 1/1/2 mths ago.
And becoz all e NUH rheumatologists r so freaking busy, my very first appointment was like.. yesterday. All e pain had disappeared during this while but then 2 wks ago, walah.. e pain came back with a vengence. And then subsided again. And now it seems to like travelling alot coz e pain will move around e various tissue parts of my ankle joint..
Perhaps I should be grateful e pain is so much milder now.. I can still walk ard, and run abit to catch e bus. U have no idea what how pain e kidney pain was, couldn't sneeze or laff and how I couldn't stand for more than 1 min before my ankles protested and I fanatically find something to hold on to, when everything all started. Or rather falling apart.
Hiaks.. I can't believe I'm typing all these out.. Anywae e pt is.. I took more blood tests yesterday.. 3 tubes of blood. Small- 3ml, medium- 5ml and a large one of 7ml. So thatz 15ml in total. 15ml/ 2880ml x 100%= 0.52% of my blood.
Anywae I told e nurse, " wao.. tatz quite abit of blood.."
Young nurse: " no need to worry ah.. young man lose abit of blood nevermind.."
Young man: "... ... young man still got rheumatoid arthritis lor.."
Young nurse: "... ... ... ... ..."

.
Anywae, I'm supposed to take xrays for both my ankles and my left knee also, which I'll take within 3 wks when I feel like it coz everyday I'm in NUH. And while waiting for my turn (no. 140) to take my blood tests yesterday, I rushed back to lab 2 at 4.30pm to mount my casts and then pack up everything and rush back at 4.55pm for e blood tests. It was no. 141 liaoz.
Young nurse: " U went to e restroom ah?"
Young man: "Ya.. Sorry.."

And then when I'm finally done I went to e cashier and hey hey.. Its $185.00! And after government subsidy its still $46.00.. Kaoz.. Its all e blood tests tat r so super ex ah..
Let me list e fees down..
Consultation fee - $21
Full Blood Count - $20
ESR - $7
SLE panel - $54
Screening panel - $75
CRP - $8

Total charges - $185
Government subsidy - $139
Finally some reason to love the government for.. Still I'm trying to claim back my $46 from e student wellness centre.. Didn't we pay health $ and insurance $ every year?
Yupz so tatz how e story goes thus far..
And if I do get rheumatoid arthritis and my fingers r involved, hiaks.. I can kiss my dentist job goodbye. And so y am I still mugging so hard to pass for my tests? Good question.. Good question..

Life is pretty boring with mugging and tests and mugging.. Nothing much to blog abt and also got 2 advantages.
1) Save time for myself to mug, and
2) Save time for my classmates who read my blog to mug.
DM test is yesterday and Occlusion test is 2morrow. Pathology test is tuesday and patho e wk after.. woo hoo.. A long way to go before we can let out laptops combine and let Legolas e-wicked-sick bone sketcher to make megakills.. I await for e day ah..
Meanwhile I can't really be bothered abt occlusion test.. Went out yesterday to celebrate Qi's birthday and walked ard clark quay damn ALOT.. Then reached home at 12.30am and en sleep very happily.
Coz I dun wanna be in e dean's list.. 100% = pass = BDS and 50% = pass = BDS. And I'll rather be on e latter for more play, rest and play.. Yet I always get very upset when e whole class is mugging and I'm not.. And so I betta get back to mugging liaoz..

If u read e papers today, there's this news article on stress and immune system in e home section. Its abt this study which found tat stress reduce IgA (immunoglobulin A) found in e saliva so stressed-up people actually had more flus, coughs, etc.. And e study was done with 2 of our dentistry seniors- Kelvin Chye and Chelsia Sim. And on y e dentistry students were chosen as study subjects, I quote- "With heavy course work and practical projects, dental schools have long been considered to have stressful environments. The students are thought to be 'chronic stress' sufferers." unquote. And this is so true ah..
So friends of all e dentistry students pls remember this.. Buy them chocolate, treat em movies and do anything to make them happy.. =)
Already I got a stress-inducing email juz now.. Hiaks..

2day e straits time was splashed with headline news of e Jakarta blast which covered e first 6 pages. This was followed by a page of ad and en following which was e russian school hostage tragedy..

Yesterday nite, as I was like e rest of my class mugging thru Dental Materials - Egwin Yeo's notes, I suddenly reached e 'end' of GIC and came to some photostated txbks' notes regrading RMGIC.. I was abit bewildered but I studied tat too nonetheless. And e same thing happened after 2 pages and kaoz.. e next page wasactually a previous page of RMGIC! And then I flipped thru e rest of e book and realised 3/4 of e book was going backwards and pages of various topics were missing everywhere and reappearing anywhere. Kaoz.. I was super irritated ah.. The time was 10.30pm en so I quit mugging and watched e last bit of Singapore Idol and en Apprentice.. Following which I went online and crap and en went to bed.
And this morning after I came home from patho lect, I took out all e pages of e binded book and had a hell of a time rearranging them.. It was pretty difficult to rearrange em coz some dun haff e page nos.. E various txbks' photostated notes were e toughest ah.. There's no page nos, no titles.. You gotta read them and guess which section they belong to. But there's one good thing ah.. E satisfaction was there and in bulk amounts too.. it was like when u finally found 2 linking pages liaoz and en u shout, "ahha! got u!".
After spending an hour getting everything in order (I hope), I cycled to e town centre's market place. Ah quite farniee.. E bookshop auntie dun haff binding service but she pointed e finger to e hardware shop beside hers. And so I went over and asked e uncle for help. But e uncle on seeing tat e book was already binded before, told me tat diff machines produce differently placed and sized holes so it won't match e previous holes. And if u punch e new holes over e old ones, e whole page may drop off.. Hope u get my idea here. And so he told me he didn't dare to earn my $ and instead took out his machine and let me try instead. He nues me also ah since I occasionally visited his shop b4.. Anywae I was lucky ah.. E holes were only a tat different and they matched quite well with e original holes. Juz alot of effort spent to punch e holes in much smaller stacks instead of everything in one shot. And so finally I got a nicely binded book all done by myself and its free! And got to learn how to use e binding machine.. Its quite cool ah.. The pulling of e machine's handle actualy resembles e pulling of a jackpot machine's handle.. Or stick if u prefer.
And so my morning is gone and I'm off to lunch..

Argh! Scary.. Tatz e word to describe my class ah.. We are having our 2 wks of 'hols' now but my classmates supposedly started mugging yesterday liaoz.. Guess I've e misconception all along.. 'Hols' is actually a euphemism for STUDY BREAK!!
But anywae we went windsurfing with e seniors 2day.. Only me and Jon went from our class ah.. Bet u can guess e reason y.. And itz juz me and Jon coz I'm basically a slacker and Jon's basically a nue-it-all..
Anywae e wind was quite weak in e morning ah.. And one of e things I like to do en is to sail out into open waters away from surfers and e pple and e crowds and spend my time with e fishes. Juz lie down on e surfboard, dip a few limbs into e cool water and block e sun from ur eyes and u're pretty much into e dream world. Thinking abt wat would happen if a shark would suddenly bite ur leg but en I think it wun't be interested in chuck of bone.. Its real nice with e waves lapping against e surfboard juz beside ur ears ah.. U could almost forget ur name.. BUT theres a flaw in this nice romantic scenario.. Its e TOOPID BRIGHT HOT SUN! Kaoz.. I'm so tanned liaoz still kanna sun burnt on my cheeks.. It will be perfect if theres a sunshade attached to e boom ah..
Heaven..
Then later in e afternoon @ 1pm e sky turned darker and a storm is brewing on e other side of e horizon. Jon, Kok yang and me left e sea while Alvin and Juin wei were attempting to challenge e stronger winds. And en hey! We saw a water spout! First time seeing it in my life ah.. Something like a tornado, reaching all e way from e sea to e sky but very much narrower.. Still its a damn big water spout.. Cool..
En took Juin Wei's car to Far East's chicken rice stall for lunch and en reach home at 5plus..

This yr trifac bash was well.. hmm.. embarrassing? Thanzx Stan..
Anywae at e very beginning I dun't even feel like going for it.. Coz dun think it will be very fun and was also abit broke liaoz.. In e end I changed my mind coz wanted to support e juniors ah..
In fact, I really didn't feel like going after playing frozen throne till 6.30pm @ Dennis' house. Got a slight migraine going and felt damn tired.. But I already paid $10 for e tix liaoz so wat e heck.. Juz go and drink e complimentary drink and sleep until e bash is over.. So I met up with Dennis T at clementi and reached there at 8.20pm.. The first performance had started and en we tunnelled our way thru e crowds to our class..
Soon came e games thingyee after a few performances.. E mcs were asking for couples from each fac ah.. I heard shouts of "bash king and queen.." and en following shouts of "STANLEY and LULIN!" and also "DANIEL and ELIZABETH!" But lulin was busy with ticketing and Daniel with his dance preps so they weren't there.. And Stan was leaning dangerously over e railings close to e mcs.. And I was leaning against e wall in e most corner part of e room toking to Wanyi and en I heard... "Wanyi and Yonghe" over e microphone.. Kaoz..
GF: Now I totally understand how e korean guy felt when I dropped e balloon onto him when e music stopped.. Haha..
And suffice to say wat happened there wasn't really worth rementioning over here.. haha..

And en e mcs announced e winners.. And mixed up dentistry for 2nd when we got 1st.. Think e medicine xianz diao ah..
And en we dance, jump ard, shout, throw ur hands into e air, shake and nod ur head, etc.. But we left pretty early b4 midnight coz e music ain't nice and took cars to lau pa sa for supper..
Supper was nice ah.. We crap, eat, laff, say lame jokes, play lame games, trade gossips, etc.. But think e highligh was this iq question abt a sad love story told by Eugene.. We spent like atleast 30 minutes on it? And even after we were chased away from our tables by e cleaners, we lingered on to try and get e answer to e mystery. And guess.. whoz e smartest of them all?

Itz already hard to be so handsome..

Last nite Dennis Soh sent this msg to me: Fellow champions.. Pls be reminded that tmr we will let our laptops combine and play warcraft.. My reply: E power is urs.
And 2day 6 handsome hunks lug their laptops from home with a common purpose.. To kill and spare no mercy.. Our last lesson happened to be a patho lect but e lecturer seemed in no hurry to finish e lecture and go home and sleep.. Kaoz.. He overshot by atleast 15 min ah.. The guys in e back row were coughing abit overextensively and more pple were toking liaoz.. Still he carried on happily. Finally at 3.20pm he finished e lecture and e 6 musketeers pulled out their laptops, plug in power and inject cds. And pretty soon we were having one hell of a time.. Tot it was simply cool.. Wonder if any seniors haff done this before.. Then as e clock approached 5pm, which was when e personeels were walking ard locking up e rooms, we unplugged and dragged our balang balang to student lounge and carried on e war.. Some juniors were still ard and were quite amused at our private warfare.. Jian Zhang for one was super interested and watched us for a quite-not-so-short time.. Ha.. hopefully we can recruited more frozen throne gamers and perhaps even start something like a inter-yr competition.. But its so super inconceivable ah..
